Youth Advocacy Training: Empowering the Next Generation of Human Rights Defenders July 7–9, 2025 | Bethlehem

The Balasan Initiative for Human Rights – Palestine held a three-day training titled “Enhancing the Capacity of Human Rights Defenders in Addressing Human Rights Issues II” in Bethlehem from July 7 to 9, 2025, as part of its ongoing Youth Empowerment Program.

The training brought together a group of young Palestinian university students eager to deepen their understanding of human rights, advocacy strategies, and civic engagement. Held at the Bethlehem Hotel, the sessions provided participants with key tools to translate awareness into meaningful action through advocacy campaigns and community initiatives.

Throughout the training, participants demonstrated remarkable engagement and critical thinking, tackling real issues impacting Palestinian society and exploring how advocacy can address structural injustices. The interactive approach fostered open dialogue, reflection, and collective problem-solving.

Implemented in partnership with Heinrich Böll Stiftung – Palestine and Jordan, this training forms part of a wider effort to support the emergence of a new generation of youth advocates in Palestine.

The training continues with two upcoming coaching sessions, where participants will receive guidance to develop their own advocacy initiatives, centered around the right to freedom of movement in Palestine.
